Hillel at Miami Welcomes Rabbi Yair Walton to the team!

Welcome, Rabbi Walton!

We are so thrilled to welcome Rabbi Yair Walton to our Hillel at Miami team as our part-time Rabbinic Educator. Rabbi Walton, a Cincinnati native, has worked with Jewish communities all over the world in Ukraine, Costa Rica, Argentina, and Lithuania, and of course Israel in various capacities in education and programming. In Israel, He worked on Arab-Israeli coexistence projects as well as food justice in Israeli society. He has worked as a Jewish Educator in North Carolina, South Florida, and Los Angeles. 

 Rabbi Walton has worked for several Orthodox, Conservative, and Reform organizations helping people connect to the greater Jewish community. Deeply pluralistic and committed to the Jewish people, Rabbi Walton wants to empower others to be enthusiastic authors of their own Jewish stories. Rabbi Walton is interested in how relationships build Jewish communities and what the next normal of the Jewish community will look like in the future.

Rabbi Walton’s role at Hillel will be to help our student leadership to infuse the ‘Jewish’ into Hillel’s programming while also being a supportive spiritual guide to all Jewish students on Miami’s campus. We are so lucky to have Rabbi Walton as a spiritual support to our growing Hillel at Miami Jewish community.
