At Hillel at Miami University of Ohio,

We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for all Jewish students, striving to be a home away from home. Our programs are designed to enhance the student experience and foster connections within our community, reflecting the diverse backgrounds and interests of those around us. Whether you come from a long history of involvement in Jewish organizations or are entirely new to this community, you are warmly welcomed here. Our staff and students collaborate to develop impactful and innovative opportunities that benefit not only Jewish students but also the broader Oxford community.

Join Us.

Community-building is at the heart of what Hillel is here to do and are as diverse + engaging as our student population. We center the development of our social programs not around a calendar but around you--the students who make our Hillel the lively home away from home that it is.

For an up-to-date list of programs, head to our calendar of events.

Have an idea for a program or want to host a Hillel event in your dorm, sorority/fraternity, co-op, etc? We want to hear about it! Connect with one of our student leaders so they can help bring your idea to life.

Shabbat + Holidays

We pause.

We exhale.

We connect.

Shabbat at Hillel at Miami University is a space centered around the connection of self + the community around us.

Come for services, come for dinner or come for both! Every Friday, when school is in session, we take a deep breath, slow things down a bit + celebrate Shabbat with a student-led service and a delicious, kosher home-cooked meal.

Holidays at Hillel are a time to connect + grow your spiritual self. Our holiday programming is ever-evolving and growing.

Led by our Holiday and Shabbat student leadership teams, Hillel is here to welcome you on your Jewish journey through student-led services, learning communities, and spiritual experiential programs.

Justice.

Social justice is reflected in the ancient words of our prophets and sages, “Justice, justice shall you pursue!” (Deuteronomy 16:20). Hillel helps to impart this critical principle and mitzvah (obligation/good deed) through its education, activism, and service that address concerns facing society today.
Excited about social justice but you don’t see something that’s right for you? Want to start a new program? Email our Assistant Director, Devra Sadler, at devras@muhillel.org and she will reach out to you!

Birthright Israel.

Take advantage of this unique opportunity to go to Israel with friends, create new social networks on campus, and enjoy the trip with a familiar face—Hillel's Israel Fellow! And it’s free!
