NEW BUILDING

More students are connecting to Jewish life at Miami University than ever before!

Hillel’s strong relationships and meaningful collaborations with the university and Oxford community have resulted in an inclusive and safe environment for Jewish students to explore Jewish life individually and collectively.

Over the last seven years, the breadth and depth of programs at our Hillel have exploded, attendance has grown exponentially, and of the 1,100 Jewish students on campus we have developed deeper relationships and know over half of them by their names, passions, desires, and interests. On a regular basis, there are now more people, programs, and activities utilizing our building. Our data indicates that this trend will continue into the foreseeable future but our 40 year old building is already unable to meet even the current demands of our community.

Expanding & Renovating

Hillel leadership began a strategic planning process in the spring of 2016 which culminated in a decision to expand and renovate the existing building. With a vision of our new building and architectural plans in hand, a goal to raise $3.6 million was established! We will double the size of the building, renovate the existing space, and furnish the facility to better serve our students, the university, and the community at a cost of $2.6 million. A $1 million fund will be created to support future initiatives and ongoing maintenance of the building.

Impact Lives; Transform Community

Take the opportunity to impact many lives on a daily basis! Visualize the completed construction that draws you into a welcoming state-of-the-art space that conveys a warm, open, and dynamic environment accessible to all. Students are meeting, studying, eating, chatting, attending a program or a class, and being supported. You can take pride in providing a superior environment for everyone.

Be a part of the most significant transformation that Hillel has ever undertaken! The expansion and renovation, supported by the university and Oxford community, sends a strong message about the importance of Jewish life on the Oxford campus. This transformation will attract more Jewish students and ensure the growth and development of the community.
