Q: How many Jewish students are located on Miami's campus?
A: There are approximately 1000 Jewish students.

Q: What is Hillel?
A: Hillel is the largest Jewish campus organization in the world. Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life provides opportunities for Jewish students to explore and celebrate their Jewish identity. Hillel actively seeks to engage uninvolved Jewish students on their own terms by providing them with opportunities to become involved with Jewish events that are meaningful and appealing to them. Any student may participate in Hillel - no membership is required.

Q: Where is Hillel located?
A: Hillel is located at 11 East Walnut street- one block from Uptown, and diagonal from BW3's. Hillel is a two-story building with a Chapel, dining room, kosher kitchen, TV lounge, game room, computer lab, wireless internet and library. The building is open Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm plus program hours (Summer closing at 5 pm). Students, community members, and organizations are welcome to use our building at other times, contact us to make arrangements.

Q: What types of programming does Hillel offer at Miami?
A: Hillel at Miami University provides a wide variety of social, cultural, educational, community service, religious, Israel-focused, holiday, and cultural experiences for the students, faculty, staff, and community in Oxford, Ohio. Jewish groups at Miami University include the Association of Jewish Students, Miami Students for Israel, and First Year Students of Hillel

Q: How can I get involved?
A: If you give us your name, we will be able access your information through Miami's website. We will send you our weekly e-mails, mailings, and newsletters, which include information about all the events for the upcoming week.

Q: Are there leadership opportunities offered through Hillel?
A: The Association of Jewish Students Executive Board and Program Board coordinate activities for Jewish students at Miami. Miami Students for Israel plans Israel related activities. The boards of AJS and MSI seek students to be on committees, share ideas or plan programs. Q: What happens for Shabbat and High Holidays on campus?
A: Hillel has weekly Shabbat services at 6 pm on Friday nights, and offers a FREE kosher dinner at 7 pm (sponsored by Jewish Federation of Cincinnati). Services, meals and seders are available for the holidays, including the High Holidays and Passover.

Q: Are there Jewish courses I can take?
A: Miami offers a Jewish Studies minor through the College of Arts and Science. This interdisciplinary minor also fulfills Miami's thematic sequence requirement by providing students with a broad range of classes including the Modern Hebrew language, social, geographical, philosophical, and religious history of the Jewish people. Q: Are there any Jewish Fraternities/Sororities?
A: Alpha Epsilon Pi (AEPi)- This Fraternity has been on Miami's campus since 1964 and is the only national Jewish Fraternity. For more information visit http://www.orgs.muohio.edu/aepi/aepi-betasite/about.htm. Alpha Epsilon Phi, a Jewish sorority, proudly has a chapter at Miami.
